Alan Apter, M.D., is one of Israel’s leading child psychiatry researchers. The author of many pioneering papers on the causes of youth suicide, youth suicide prevention, and military suicide, he is Director of the Child and Adolescent Division of Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel. He also has had visiting professorships at the Karolinska Insitute. He has received several honors for his leadership and research, including CEO of the year for his leadership of Child Psychiatry at Schneider Children’s Medical Center, the Brickell Award for Suicide Research, and the American Foundation for Suicide Research Lifesaver Award.
